High-pressure cleaners are high-performance products dedicated to cleaning home &outdoor environments or for heavy use within professional settings. Taking advantage of the high-pressure jet, these appliances remove even the most encrusted dirt in just one go, providing energy, water and time savings and truly outstanding results.

To choose the model best suited to your needs, Lavor has devised the Washing Level for household high-pressure cleaners, which takes into account the three main parameters, pressure, flow rate and motor power to classify the high-pressure cleaners into 6 levels, guiding you to purchase the best performing model according to your specific usage needs.

In addition to this classification, one aspect that should not be underestimated when purchasing a high-pressure cleaner, especially for professional use, is the type of motor, which can be electric or endothermic, or “stroke engine”.

What is the difference between an electric high-pressure cleaner and one with stroke engine?

The type of motor is one of the main aspects to evaluate when deciding to purchase a high-pressure cleaner. Specifically, there are two main variants to choose from:

  • High-pressure cleaners with an electric motor, requiring a mains connection (230V for home use, 400V for industrial use) to operate. These solutions are ideal for use in industries, warehouses, car washes, etc.
  • High-pressure cleaners with endothermic, i.e., “stroke” engine. Operation here is based on a combustion chamber, fueled by gasoline or diesel. This type of product is suitable for all those settings where it is not possible to connect the high-pressure cleaner to the power supply, such as wide open spaces, farms and construction sites. Thus, these are complete, high-performance, self-contained solutions.

Why choose a high-pressure cleaner with stroke engine?

Petrol or diesel-powered high-pressure cleaners are high-performance models, ideal for all those settings within which there is no mains connection and for frequent use over large areas. These models are especially recommended for demanding uses such as graffiti removal, use inside construction sites, in large industrial environments, inside farms or for cleaning sewers and drains.

The main advantages of high-pressure cleaners with stroke engine are:

  • The ability to be used even where there are no mains connections. With its self-contained engine, these models are an ideal solution for outdoor cleaning and for use inside unconventional environments without electricity;
  • Power and performance. The stroke engine makes it possible to produce a water flow rate and power of up to 700 bar in the highest-performance models.

Due to the increased noise and exhaust production, comparable to that of a car or scooter, this type of high-pressure cleaner cannot be used indoors instead.

Why choose an electric high-pressure cleaner?

 Electric high-pressure cleaners are more compact and handy solutions, compared to models with stroke engine, and offer several advantages:

  • the lower engine noise;
  • the absence of exhaust gas (in the case of cold-water high- pressure cleaners not equipped with a boiler).

Precisely because of these characteristics, they can also be used indoors, if desired, as long as there are internal drainage channels, such as industries, warehouses, the logistics sector, food companies, farms and much more. There are high-performance models, totally dedicated to professional sectors, which guarantee high efficiency and cleanliness even after frequent use within large areas.

To work, these solutions must necessarily be connected to a 230V or 400V outlet in the case of industrial power supply.
