Is your high-pressure cleaner no longer generating enough pressure?

Proper pressure is essential to ensure high performance and effectiveness of either a home or professional high-pressure cleaner.

If your high-pressure cleaner does not reach pressure, it is necessary to understand what the reasons are and how to solve this annoying problem. Let’s take a closer look at common causes and solutions.

Reasons why the high-pressure cleaner does not generate pressure:

  1. Blockage in the hose or lance: one of the most common reasons for lack of pressure is a blockage in the hose or lance of the high-pressure cleaner. This can be caused by debris, dirt or residues within the system, but also more trivially by a kink either in the supply pipe or in the high-pressure hose.
You can get aware of this problem by looking at certain symptoms. If you notice that the water is spraying erratically or weakly, it could mean that the lance is clogged, or the hose may have a kink. Also, check to see if water is leaking from the lance inconsistently or if you hear unusual noises when operating the high-pressure cleaner.
  2. Dirty filter: the filter of your high-pressure cleaner may be dirty or clogged, preventing the smooth flow of water and thus affecting pressure.
If you hear strange noises coming from the high-pressure cleaner when in operation, it may mean that the filter is dirty and is causing little water circulation in the system. The presence of debris or dirt particles in the water coming out of the nozzle could also mean that the filter is not effectively doing its job of retaining impurities.
  3. Damaged seals: seals inside the high-pressure cleaner may be damaged or worn, thus causing leaks and reducing pressure.
We recommend that you carefully examine the visible seals for signs of damage, such as tears, cracks or deformation. If seals are hidden inside the parts of the high-pressure cleaner pay attention to some indicators such as water leaks from parts of your high-pressure cleaner and overheating.
Also, keep in mind the age and wear and tear of your high-pressure cleaner – if it has been used for a long time or has been subjected to heavy use, the seals may be worn out.
  4. Defective pump: if the pump of your high-pressure cleaner is damaged or defective, it may not be able to generate the necessary pressure for optimal operation. Symptoms of pump problems may be unusual noises during its operation, such as creaking, rattling or knocking sounds, overheating that may be caused by excessive resistance inside the pump due to faulty components or malfunction.
In addition, sudden or inconsistent flows in water pressure while using the high-pressure cleaner could indicate an internal pump malfunction or adjustment problems

Solutions to the problem of lack of pressure in high-pressure cleaners

Now let’s see what to do in each of these situations:

  1. Cleaning the hose and lance: check the hose and lance to make sure there are no blockages or obstructions. Remove the hose and lance and clean them thoroughly with water and, if necessary, an anti-scale product. Check if the tube is sound and safe and if it has no kinks or damage.
  2. Cleaning the filter: check the filter of your high-pressure cleaner and clean or replace it if it is dirty or clogged. Make sure to comply with the manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning or replacing the filter.
  3. Replacing the gaskets: if the gaskets are damaged, replace them with new ones to restore the seal and ensure optimal operation of your high-pressure cleaner.
  4. Check the pump: if you suspect the problem is due to a faulty pump, refer to the manufacturer’s manual or contact the technical service for assistance. It may be necessary to replace the pump if it is damaged beyond repair.
